A few choices are kept in your own browser so you don't have to make them again each time: your language, light or dark theme, the chosen location and your country (24 hours). In Model Lab also your settings and the most recently loaded weather maps.

This stays on your device and we cannot read it. You can clear it by deleting the site data for meteoproof.com in your browser.

Whatever you change on the map in Model Lab is not stored by us and is not linked to you.

To show the right language and a nearby station, we look at which country you are visiting from. Cloudflare derives that country from your IP address. We don't store it; only your browser remembers it for 24 hours.

As with any website, these services receive technical data such as your IP address when your browser fetches something from them:

• Cloudflare: hosting of the site and the data, and visitor statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics, without cookies and without tracking you across other sites).
• Esri: the background map on the front page.
• Plotly: the chart library on the Daily page and in the tools.
• flagcdn.com: the small flags next to locations and models.
